Activities for the whole family at Strandingsmuseum St. George

The shipwreck museum isn’t just fun for adults!
It offers a wealth of exciting activities for everyone, and remember that children under the age of 18 get free admittance!

At Strandingsmuseum St. George, you can learn about the perilous coast of West Jutland and the many ships that met their end there. You can also get a close-up look at one of the biggest shipwreck disasters in world history which took place in the Christmas of 1811, where the two British ships of the line HMS St. George and HMS Defence wrecked off the coast of Thorsminde.

Go exploring through the exhibitions, listen to the stories, try the interactive games, watch the films, dress up like English mariners from 1811 and learn more about life at sea. Look through drawers and wardrobes and dive into the depths of the amazing world of marine archaeology with flashlights and games on the ocean floor - without getting a single drop of water on you.

You can also let your children loose on the outdoor maritime playground and enjoy a hot beverage or lunch at the Café-Restaurant St. George while taking in the view of the ocean, sand dunes and harbour.
